At the beginning of 6th grade, students visit the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center and learn the history of the Holocaust and how it relates to human rights and American ideals. This was a very interesting read that I read with an online book club a number of years ago. And that 1.5 children were amongst the innocent victims. (We were in Germany when it was still East and West at the time.) I was ten years old, and I was shocked that children my age as well as my younger sibling's age were murdered for senseless reasons.
